SPG Statement on the Current Situation in Ukraine

24/03/2022 Update: This may look like an empty office to you, but it is actually our project team hard at work — remote work.

Remote work

21/03/2022 Update: Owing to our Ukrainian partners and contractors’ continuous work on our infrastructure’s resilience, our connectivity has been backed up by yet another channel. Our colleagues have secured support from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Technologies to install a Starlink dish at one of their locations.

18/03/2022 Update: This has been our third week of war. All of our team members are relatively safe, becoming accustomed to working in this new reality.

Our InfraOps specialists continue to work on increasing our infrastructure’s resilience, and on helping remote specialists resolve technical problems.

Software Planet Group’s account executives are also working on securing new opportunities and several teams are getting ready to start new projects.

15/03/2022 Update: The week has started without any problems. We activated two reserve landline internet channels which will act as backup access to our company’s infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Technologies has launched a new initiative to limit the conscription of IT specialists in the country in order to keep the economy afloat. President Zelenskyy has also announced a wartime tax reform, which should simplify the process of running businesses and shield companies from the effects of war. We see this as a positive sign for our operations in the country.

11/03/2022 Update: Another challenging week has come to an end. All project teams have been working as planned, with a few of them taking the day off as needed. We look forward to resuming our operations and wish everyone a quiet and safe weekend.

10/03/2022 Update: Despite a number of air raid alerts, all project teams have been working as planned.

09/03/2022 Update: Many of our teams had the day off yesterday, but all of our operations have resumed today.

07/03/2022 Update: We are most grateful to all customers who paid their invoices early. Your support at this critical moment is extremely important to all of our teams.

All of our projects ran without a hitch today.

Tomorrow was meant to be a public holiday in Ukraine. For team members who would like to spend the day with their families and recuperate from the surrounding environment, we are allowing them to take the day off, so our capacity will be limited.

04/03/2022 Update: As the war in Ukraine rages on, we still have a deployment schedule to follow. Thankfully, today, one of our teams released a major functionality update, in accordance with our agreed timetable.

Not all projects were quite as lucky, however. Due to a technical error with one of our workstations, another expected deployment had to be rescheduled for early next week.

Russian air raids continue to disrupt our team’s typical work schedule, but they are working to their best ability.

03/03/2022 Update: Thanks to another calm day, all projects are operating as normal.

We continue to work with our customers on the business continuity plans for their projects.

Our teams keep calm and carry on with their work.

02/03/2022 Update: All projects are currently operating as normal. Our teams have had a much calmer and a more productive day.

We’re offering a special discount for customers who want to switch over from their Russian contractors! Free project setup, no knowledge transfer needed and a 20% discount for the first month to boot.

01/03/2022 Update: One of our Ukrainian offices is currently operating 24 hours a day as both a development centre and a shelter. Some of our team members have even brought in their families and children. Nevertheless, the majority of our developers are now working from home, with more and more of them getting back to work all the time.

Despite numerous reports about air raids throughout the day, our team members continue to press on, with daily builds making their way through CI/CD pipelines.

We are working on business continuity plan updates with our customers.

28/02/2022 Update: Many of our team members have already lived through numerous air raids and have had to seek safety in bomb shelters. Nevertheless with the exception of one all of our projects have been undeterred. The project in question will resume tomorrow.

We are continuing to receive phone calls and emails from both current and former customers who are full of support and eager to help. We are most grateful for your words of encouragement.

26/02/22 Update: Many customers are reaching out to us to ask what they can do to help Ukrainians in their time of need. Please feel free to donate to the Ukrainian armed forces today by following the instructions we have provided below: https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyi

25/02/22 Update:  Today we activated our project-specific business continuity plans, and we are happy to report that in spite of our overall capacity being somewhat reduced in a few cases, all of our projects were successfully up and running, with our customers being given their daily updates. We are thankful for the enduring support of our partners, so thanks to every one of you who reached out to us with your kind words of solidarity and encouragement! Software Planet Group will continue to monitor the situation closely and assess our response on a daily basis.

24/02/22: Dear customers and partners, as you are probably already aware, today Ukraine — where all of our development centres are located — fell victim to an unprecedented Russian attack. This is a force majeure situation, but we and all of our employees and contractors are determined to carry on with our work for as long as we physically can. We are working on continuity plans for each and every one of our projects and will remain in direct contact with all of our customers. Please note that our team members are currently engaged in remote work and that their capacity may be reduced, as some developers have requested time off. We are doing our very best to get everyone back to work as soon as possible and providing all means necessary to help them do so.

This is a rapidly developing situation and your support is greatly needed. We plan to keep you updated on a daily basis.

Слава Україні! Ukraine shall prevail.
